We have just attended the Pasture Agronomy Service conference at Wagga Wagga over the last 2 days, and it's been a great 2 days of learnings. We have a bevy of story ideas for the next week or so. It was interesting to note that with all the media and social media talk about fuel and input prices and what's going on politically, it wasn't really talked about here. Conference host Mark Lucas said that many of the Farmers in the room were at the cutting edge and would be in the top 10 per cent of their chosen Farming pursuit. They were there to take away the postives and there were plenty of them. If you are in the Livestock game, then brace yourself for the ride of a lifetime if Simon QWuilty's presentation is anything to go by. We cover it and more in the subscriber edition
The latest stories:
Halter, the Virtual Fencing company, did a strong presentation at the event, but when asked about collar Sheep it was a no from them.
You can get caught up in all the talk of fuel and input prices, which can start playing on your mind. We talk about how you can avoid this and make decisions with a clear mind.
Simon Quilty delivered another positive presentation with a few surprises. It's looking good for Livestock, and Simon's predictions are at odds with ABARES.
Farmers get the guilts when they are away from the Farm or when they are not working, and others are. We have a case study of this and how you can avoid that guilty feeling.
Exclusion Fencing is working, and it's interesting that it has a positive effect on Land values. We have a case study of how it's worked for one Farmer.
I bought a flash new Cricket bag back in my 20s, and the dog pissed on it. So I used an old poly Super bag to cart my gear around after that. There is a good story behind this.
We highlight a restaurant business that has been around for 47 years, so it's stood the test of time. We also talk about how the generation Farming business stands out and why they last for generations.
One new subscriber sent this in "Really love the newsletter, mate. Doing a great job. It certainly has got me thinking differently, and I enjoy the wide range of topics". It's the thinking bit that we love and explain why.
Have a great Wednesday, and subscribe to keep yourself informed.
