  • We call it Non-Commodity Thinking - There's a way we approach our writing that we'd like to think is a little bit different from the norm. Commodity to me is everyday stuff, you can get it anywhere, and it's cannon fodder as far as content is concerned. The angle we come from is that we write to get people thinking, to throw out ideas. We don't have to be right; we give opinions, but accept that they can be pulled apart or challenged. It's not about us being right, it's about what our writing can do for you. It's this Non-Commodity thinking approach that will keep you on the green line (see image below).

  • The latest writings:

  • No more funnies. Someone has made a major complaint about our 20-odd "edgy" funnies we present each day, and we have to stop them. Sad day.

  • A 14-year-old apprentice butcher is taking social media by storm. This is publicity the red meat industry can't buy….

  • A Farmer put up an "Agistment wanted" ad. But it wasn't any old ad for Agistment. It had a bit of mayo added. We explain that as Farmers this is how we need to think about things these days.

  • On the back of this fuel issue, there are events being cancelled. The Big Red Bash, Campdrafting's Golden Buckle, just to name a couple. This tears away at our social fabric, and we explain why that's not good.

  • The Shearing industry has spent millions on trying to get a robot to Shear Sheep. It hasn't worked, but there's an invention that did work and saves the back of the Shearer. It's simple, and we explain how it's kept Shearers in the game longer.

  • The next bastion for Farmers beyond Precision Farming is Ultru-High Precisions Farming. It's about measuring more and eliminating waste. We explain.

  • Many Ag businesses have lost the art of servicing customers. We outline what one restaurant is doing and how Ag can follow its lead.

  • What would Harry do? We heard from WA Farmers John Nicoletti about what he is doing in the situation we find ourselves in right now. We also asked the question of what Harry Bourchier would have done.

  • We wrote about how business isn't linear and gave an example of an Ag Tech business that started out doing X but ended up doing Y.

  • Our guest writer, Michael Bagshaw, outlined how you need to be flexible to take advantage of any opportunities that will present whilst the world is in a little bit of turmoil.

  • Have a great Wednesday and Easter. We will miss Saturday and be back next Wednesday.
