Know more than next door….

  • We study what the good Farmers do - Stacking commodities

I was talking to a mixed Farmer at a conference this week, and he explained that in the 25/26 financial year, Wool will be his top-earning enterprise. But the kicker is that it was 4 years' worth of Wool all sold in this current financial year.

But it wasn’t the Wool sale that piqued my interest; it was the fact that they accumulated the Wool over the period when it was at much lower prices and managed to cash it at a price in the absolute top percentile. We call it "stacking commodities", and one highly respected Cropping Farmer (one of the best) wrote in and said that stacking is a way to make the highest margin possible. Yes, you need to have your cash flow sorted, but you can get started by stacking small and stacking often.

  • Our writings this week

  • One of the very best Farmers we know spoke about how he uses the “stacking commodity” process on his Cropping Farm.

  • Dear LambEx - We asked LambEx why they hadn’t included the subject of Virtual Fencing on the agenda…

  • One lady wrote a great article on running events for Farmers. We all know that there are way more misses than hits when it comes to these events.

  • We profiled 3 young stars of the Wagyu game. All industries need these young stars to keep things fresh and exciting.

  • Current students dislike inbound and outbound phone calls. We explain how the future of communication could be very different if they carry that into adulthood.

  • We relayed 6 dot points around what we learn’t at the Best Wool/Best Lamb and Better Beef conference we attended this week.

  • Columnist Vic Hoffmann Dohle talks about how some of the most memorable things in life aren’t always the biggest.

  • The Chinese are coming with their Farm Machinery, and there are a couple of reasons why Farmers will get attracted to it. Watch this space.

  • In succession, timing and compounding are your friends. We explain why.

  • Contributor Bec Lindert wrote about how their local school raised $96,500 putting on a Campdrafting event. Great effort.

  • Have a great Saturday and start stacking those commodities.
