Convincing people to do something different is difficult. We are creatures of habit, and sometimes we avoid uncomfortable things at our own peril. And convincing people to do something different in Ag is another level again. That's not a sledge; that's the way it is, and we write about how Ag only lets you make small incremental gains when you want to grow something. Our 600-odd subscribers are hard-earned, take my word for it. A mate of mine used to work at the Weekly Times, and he reckons (back then) half their readership just bought the paper out of habit. It was the thing to drive to the newsagent's or milk bar on a Wednesday and grab it. What we have to do is create new and better habits for people, and we think we have, as we are consistently getting 90-odd per cent open rates each day. That's unheard of. Our subscription is about this: you take a little (a small monthly fee), and you get a hell of a lot more in return. We have created a new habit for 600-odd of the very best Farmers and Ag people in the Land.

The stories since Wednesday:
We heard how Farmers Fightback (you need to join) is becoming a political party. Is Benny Duxson running?
We went and saw Kerry O'Keefe on Thursday night. He was extremely funny, butβ¦β¦..
There's a 700hp Chinese Tractor coming, and it's in the hands of a very good Farmer.
Harry Bourchier used to take all his nine kids on his business trips. Not all at once, but one or two at a time. Why? There is a very big lesson here for all of us.
Is the next big thing Faba Beans? Could they be the new Lentils?
A fast Train from Sydney to Melbourne. Turn it up. Sadly, we don't have the ability to pull off these big infrastructure projects anymore. We explain why.
There is no greater marketing for a business than having someone recommend it. There is a new virtual fencing company that has a cult-like following.
New, cheaper Fertiliser options are popping up and blend well with synthetic ones. Don't miss this story.
How can the minister for finance, Katy Gallagher, not know the number? What if we had the best business minds in charge of the country's finances?
Have a great Saturday and join 600-odd others by creating a new habit.
