Cash flow management tip that works - When we founded the Farm Tender, we thought the most important thing we needed to do was manage our cash flow. So we started putting money aside incrementally for all the known expenses that pop up. You know, PAYG tax, GST, super, commissions, web hosting, etc, etc. We put aside a small amount into a seperate (5 different ones) bank accounts each week so that when it came time to pay these bills, the money was there. This system has served us very well over a 14-year period, and we believe every business could manage cash flow better if it followed this formula. What tips do you have for managing cash?
Our latest writings:
We are potentially starting up something new called The Green Line Group. It will be for Farmers and Agribusiness people who want to take their businesses to the next level. We wrote about it today.
I just had the most incredible phone conversation with a Farmer who has developed a new AI tool that will completely manage his Farm. You have to hear his proposal to believe it.
Are we entering a new era where Farm Management software will deliver decision-making capabilities and outcomes?
Guest wrtiter Micheal Bagshaw outlines what we can learn from Clarksons Farm. Lots, he says.
Someone outlined what the real cost of running Machinery was. We just think it's fuel and repairs. But it’s so much more.
There is a new retail model that consumers are clamouring over. Let's call it the Costco model, where you pay a subscription or membership and get discounts. We ask if something like this would work for Ag?
The best bit of advice for running a great set of Farm books is to do it all the time rather than all at once. We wrote a story as to why.
Our guest columnist, Vic Hoffmann Dohle, and her family have given up supermarket meat and decided to return to using their own Sheep and Cattle. She explains why.
The US used-car market is changing and has parallels with our Machinery market here, which is also changing. We explain what those changes look like.
Stubble is such a great tool for Cropping Farmers. Some Farmers are really getting clever with their stubble. We elaborate.
Our guest writer Bec Lindert gives some great examples of how Ag Tech has developed here in Australia.
Have a great Friday night.
