If I were advising a young person who wants to go places in Ag, I would be vigilant with the following: 1) Make sure you get back to anyone who calls, texts or emails you. Everyone. It’s a great habit to get into, and it will take you places. Trust me. 2) If you set a time for something, get into the habit of turning up early, or if you are going to be late, call ahead. 3) Do what you say you are going to do every time. Do these 3 things, and don’t waver, and you will go places, I guarantee.
Our latest writings:
What’s the consequence for us here in Australia if there is a massive Asian drought, which has been predicted?
Our forefathers all did hard things. Clearing land was one of them. It's the hard thing about hard things.
Are you proud of your kids' achievements? One of my mates told his kids that he wasn’t proud of how they are currently acting in their early 20s. Hard but fair?
The Meat Processors are absorbing these current high Cattle and Sheep prices without blinking an eye. Have they just got better at what they do? We think so and explain why.
Many Farmers have sold up and bought in another area and have done it successfully. We track a Farmer who left, set up 1,100 km away, sold there, and came back to build a 70,000-acre empire.
Guest columnist Vic Hoffmann Dohle writes about wisdom sharing in Ag. Great read.
We discover why Farmers have been so loyal to John Deere over many generations. We also discover why that is changing.
Parking the ego can be hard. But if we want to get ahead in business, we have to. We explain why.
We had a 3-day offsite. We talk about how Farming families need to have their important meetings at a neutral venue.
Guest contributor Bec Lindert writes about trade agreements and tariffs and how they aren’t as big an issue as we make out. Strong article.
Have a great Saturday and stick to the 3 rules above, and you will go places.
